Steve Kwok discussed family ancestral books (jiapu and zupu) including: how to find them; how to make sense of the content (even if you do not read Chinese); and how to fill in the last generations based on your family research and generational poem.

Steve Kwok, former Chair of CFHGSC, is passionate about genealogy and sharing his knowledge of the Chinese American experience. Combining his interests, he volunteers for the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation by transcribing interviews of Island detainees and recording their experiences for the Angel Island Immigrant Voices initiative. He retired from Xerox in 2003.
